Voting Means You Care

It's amazing to me the shift that has happened in America. There was a time women had to fight for the right to vote. Blacks had to fight for the right to vote. It was considered important enough for blood to be shed over it. Now, most people have simply lost faith in the system and do not care enough to vote.

We must accept the fact that when we are inactive politically, we lose our power to complain later. We must be informed and we must begin to consider the will of God when we vote. Go to the polls today prayed up and vote as God leads you, not the media or the opinion of friends/family. God bless you.

Healing Prayer

Healing prayer takes place when you no longer care what you look or sound like. Healing is a result of being naked before God by your own freewill. He will accept you and restore you every time because He promised He would.

Election Madness

I personally believe it is pure madness with all the lies and manipulation of media and voters. I'm happy that God has given me discernment and the ability to pray. He's also given me common sense to seek out facts on my own.

I have to say, I'm not thrilled about either candidate but as November draws closer, I'm sure I'll come to a conclusion about which one I'll vote for. Kentucky is leaning mostly toward Romney but at the moment, still uncommitted.

Esteem

Don't overburden yourself with issues of esteem. You are who God created you to be and in His eyes, creating you was good.

Grateful Disposition

God's abundant grace and mercy is more than we need, but not enough to squander. Be sure you are grateful for your life and for all the things God has added to it. Believe me, life can be harder no matter how hard it may seem right now. Learn to have a grateful disposition.

Hallelujah!

Lip service does not touch the heart, but a hallelujah that bubbles forth out of your pain, joy or love is truly powerful in heaven. Not much to share today but I thought you should know that I'm praising God and I have many hallelujahs ringing forth from my joy.

Two Way Conversation

Prayer isn't simply asking for the things you believe you need or desire. Prayer is communication. It is speaking and listening until some understanding or release is imparted. Younger people tend not to wait around to see if God has something to say these days. So many things compete for their attention. But I encourage you to let God be the winner of that battle. All the time you spend with Him is not in vain. Not one moment shall be wasted.

Meditations

Each day, I wake up and meditate on scripture and attempt to apply it to my life in some way or another. Meditation is a powerful tool to help us refocus our mental energy back into God and His perfect will for our lives. If you aren't meditating, you are cheating yourself of peace and joy, and also clarity.

Dayz of Praize 7

Today, be grateful for your enemies and those who have hurt you the most. Praise God, asking Him to save their souls and touch their lives and give them joy unspeakable for this is the requirements of the love that God commands us to have. Praise the Lord, everyone. Praise ye the Lord!

When you find it difficult to keep praising an invisible God out loud for all the manifested blessings in your life, remember how much you appreciate the oxygen, which is also invisible and begin to praise God for it. Your praise shall be like a sanctuary!

Praise God for your source of income or however you have been feeding yourself, even if it is food stamps or some other government program. We could live in a place where there is no assistance available. Glory be to our Father who provides for us at all times in all places wheresoever we go.

Praise God for every tear you can look back and be happy about shedding now. Praise Him for all the pain you have experienced for it made you stronger. Oh come and let us magnify the Lord together!

Life with Meaning

Today's reflection from my heart is about living a life that is full, meaningful and productive for others. I went to see the doctor last week and he took an extra moment just to thank me for all the work I've done with the elderly and the ill patients who do not have family. It meant a lot. I didn't even know he knew about any of those things. It's nice to know my life has meaning not only for me but for others also.

A Great Inheritance

Today's reflection is about inheritance. What are you leaving behind for your children, grandchildren and so on? I'm not speaking of money and houses. I speak of values and skills. Yesterday was the joy of my life to have my grandchildren help me make preserves. They were amazed to learn how jelly/jam is made. And I could see a light in the eyes of my granddaughter. She learned something and enjoyed herself.

When I was a child, I remember learning to cook, clean, sew, quilt and garden from my mother and my aunt. I loved every minute of it once they pulled my attention from playing. I passed most of that knowledge on to my children but they hadn't bothered to teach my grandchildren, so I decided to do it myself.

A great inheritance is more than physical possessions. Leaving behind a piece of history, however, is priceless. Leaving a piece of your passion and your drive is priceless. Don't underestimate the power of time spent doing things new together.

2 Months without Coffee

It's been a solid two months and I've been without my morning and afternoon coffee. I'm sleeping better than ever and my energy level is up. My vision is clearer than before and I have much less nervousness. I'd love to hear from those who are also kicking the coffee.

Need Your Prayers

I have recently stopped visiting the nursing homes here in Louisville. My health and medication sometimes make it difficult to drive or even to get out of bed. I ask for your sincere prayers because I really love spending time with the elderly and learning from them. I love visiting hospitals and bringing food to the shelter. I hate when I'm not able to keep my schedule. I believe God for healing everyday and know that He is able.
